Fjord Kayaking
Join us for a simple yet raw nature experience. From our base at Marifjøra, you can go kayaking on the Sognefjord! In a kayak, you get close to the fjord and nature. The trip is easy, requiring no prior kayaking knowledge, and is led by experienced guides. This is a perfect activity for bouth young and older.

Join us for a simple yet raw nature experience. From our base at Marifjøra, you can go kayaking on the Sognefjord! In a kayak, you get close to the fjord and nature. The trip is easy, requiring no prior kayaking knowledge, and is led by experienced guides. This is a perfect activity for bouth young and older.
We start the trip by getting to know all the participants, as well as introducing you to the guide who will be with you. The guide will show you the equipment and give tips and advice on basic paddling techniques to make the trip both safe and comfortable.
In stable and safe double kayaks, we explore the fjord. It’s a fantastic nature experience where you get close to the landscape. If we are lucky, we might see seals, harbour porpoises or birds along the way.
After a while, we paddle to a small, hidden lunch spot that can only be reached from the water. Here we take a calm break, enjoy our packed lunch and relax in the beautiful surroundings. There is also the possibility to go for a swim.
NOTE: Remember a towel and swimwear. :)
After a well‑deserved rest, we paddle back the same way and finish the trip where we started.
It’s a lovely feeling to sit in the kayak when the mountains reflect in the mirror‑still fjord. Come and join us on an adventure!
Additional information
We recommend you to bring:
- Dress according to the weather. Bring a jacket that can withstand wind and rain.
- A cap, sunscreen and sunglasses are good to have
- An extra set of clothes - capsizing can happen
- Swimsuit and towels
- Shoes that can get wet
- Please pack what you need in a waterproof plastic bag or packing sack to keep it dry
- Lunch, snacks, water
We provide:
- Kayak

- Life jacket
- Spray skirt
Difficulty:
This is an easy level tour that is suitable for the entire famliy. Wind can make it more challenging, but we always adjust the tour to the weather conditions. The distance is about 13 km in total.
Requirement:
You should be comfortable being on the water and able to swim.
